Establishing our legacy,
one seed at a time.
William W. “Bill” Hall, Jr., president of HBL Architects, founded Hall Barnum Lucchesi Architects – known today as HBL Architects.
Bill’s first partnership, Hall-McGuff Architects, began in 1968 and successfully practiced until 1983, when Hall Architects was established. Hall Architects became Hall/Merriman Architects in 1988, and was recognized in both 1991 and 1992 as one of Houston's 100 fastest growing companies.
After serving as vice president and chief architect of Hedrick Architects and Engineers, Daniel B. Barnum started his own firm, Daniel Barnum Architects, in 1977. He was a partner in Environment Associates Architects and Consultants from 1986 to 1993. Bill and Daniel merged the Hall and Barnum firms to form Hall/Barnum Architects on July 1, 1993.
Eight years later, Hall/Barnum Architects became Hall Barnum Lucchesi Architects with the promotion of Stephen A. Lucchesi as a named principal.
In 2008, Hall Barnum Lucchesi Architects changed its name to HBL Architects. Together, the principals have more than 100 years of experience in producing quality projects for religious, civic, governmental, educational, commercial and residential clients.
