Episcopal
Church of the Good Shepherd
Friendswood, Texas
Episcopal
Church of the Good Shepherd is a growing parish community of Friendswood,
Texas. Sharing the campus is Good Shepherd School, a pre-K to first
grade school that would like to expand to include all elementary grades.
The architects developed a Master Plan that would “build out”
the 4.7 acre site expanding the facilities to house a congregation
of 400. Priority was given to renovating and expanding the worship
facilities. The Master Plan calls for a building expansion of 35,400
square feet, to be built in two or more phases. Phase One included
remodeling of the 2,800 SF worship building, adding 5,200 SF of new
space - a new chancel, a chapel, choir rehearsal space, narthex and
support spaces. The worship space turned 180 degrees so that the chancel
would face east and the entry would face a new plaza between the church
and parish buildings. |
